Expositions

D’une exposition commune avec Gera 9 à Moscou en 2013 à ma première exposition personnelle, «Всё», à Vilnius en 2021.

Midlife Crisis

Immersive group show, Arte Vilnius gallery, Polocko 10, Vilnius, Lithuania. Opened 4 April 2025

A group show about the turning point of midlife: from colours losing their brightness to numbness and indifference to what is going on.

With Sasha Kru, Max Kostenko, Marta Žuravskaja, Sergey Shikurov and Anastasia Korotkova, a light installation by Denis Bykovskiy and a DJ set by SPRLZNSS (DE). Over 300 people came to the opening.

I tried

80 × 120 cm. Wall, acrylic: the painted shadow of a canvas. March 2025

I tried. Honestly. I came up with a series of works and thought through every element that would reveal the idea, but… crisis.

Helplessness before the emptiness inside came out as what I think is an absolute work, one where there is no work at all. Only the shadow of what was conceived and never made.

Midlife Crisis

A video of me (43 min 36 s), a single mattress 90 × 200 cm, a sheet and a pillow. April 2025

My second work for the show of the same name is meant to pass on the sense of pointlessness and emptiness that comes with this period for me.

Visitors could lie down on the mattress however they liked and take in the video projected above them in their own way.

«Всё» /fsʲˈɵ/

The first solo exhibition. May 24–30, 2021. TechArts (Pakrante), Vilnius, Lithuania

There is no single way to explain what “всё” means. It can be “all”, “everything”, “enough”, “this is the end”, etc. There are no bad or good meanings.

“Всё” is the shortest definition for the absolute abstraction of this world.

“Всё,” said Andrey.

The artist has chosen a really capacious name for his solo exhibition, which, on the one hand, is a product of his specific creative period, and on the other – a manifesto expressing the limitlessness of tricks and techniques employed in his art. As an uninterrupted path of a brush moving across a single canvas, Andrey Adno introduces a self-portrait project, where all the images are unique, but at the same time they are a continuation of each other. We are gazing into these images, and there is no artist’s face in them – it has vanished, without even leaving the sense of its ephemeral presence.

Conventional painting methods perfectly go with the abstract and conceptual in the form of birches, which are a fairly “close” thing to the Slavs and are therefore used as a metaphor for the author’s inner journey to his homeland. What’s interesting is that the trees quite unrealistically, brick by brick, turn into a wall, transporting the viewer to the streets where, in fact, Andrey Adno began to develop as an artist. This wall is natural, pristine, natively graphically colored, and filled to the brim with energy.
